Hospital Kuala Lumpur HKL registered their name in the World Record for the ‘Maximum Number of Participants In A Hand Sanitising Relay’. A total of 3,559 participants, including nurses and doctors, participated in the Hand Sanitising Relay to increase awareness of the significance of hand hygiene. Held at Hospital Kuala Lumpur itself, the event was to supplement World Hand Hygiene Day which is usually observed in the month of May. The agenda of this event was to promote awareness regarding the value of hand hygiene among medical personnel to reduce healthcare-associated infection (HCAI). It was also to make a public announcement that hand hygiene was on the hospital’s priority. At this event, Health Ministry medical development division chief assistant director, Dr. Noor Aziah Zainal Abidin and organizing committee chairman Dr. Nor Azham Hakim were present.
